On October 24th CircAid® Medical Products, the Norton Clinic, and Lymphedema Products hosted a Focus Group for therapists entitled: "Lymphedema Treatment, Past, Present and Future". 10 therapists from the New York area were invited to fill out a detailed questionnaire about their practice regarding treatment (both intensive and maintenance phase), training, insurance, adherence, product providers, and garments. Steve Norton, of The Norton Clinic, was the facilitator.
The Focus group lasted two hours and lunch was provided. The main goal of the Focus Group was to realize a better understanding of what lymphedema therapists are facing today and what can be done to build community. The key areas that need to be addressed as expressed by the therapists are:
- Standardization of treatment, training, and certification.
- Better communication between therapists, Industry, and all involved in the treatment of lymphedema
- More support from the government, LANA, and the NLN.
- Better support for financial needs of therapists and patients.
- A more open-minded approach to lymphedema and its treatment.
- Development of Regional chapters and meetings, as well as patient advocacy groups.
- An overall need for unity, continuity, and inclusiveness.

Effective January, 2008, all standard and custom size lower leggings will include an EZTM Single-Band Ankle-Foot Wrap (AFW), item number 38250017, as part of the system.
The CircPlusTM II AFW (38220017) will continue to be available upon request, or when your patients are reordering and want the older model. Please make note of this request when placing your order so that we can switch out the EZ AFW for the CircPlus II AFW.
